Chaplain Max Jones' Story.

Max Jones was just a country preacher when he applied for the job of correctional officer at Glades Correctional Institution in Belle Qlade, Florida. After working three long years in the classifications office, the position of chaplain finally opened up. When Max applied for it, the superintendent asked him what qualifications he had. Max answered, "I have my D.D. degree - Devil Disturber!"

Max worked with the men at Glades for ll1/2 years, touching many lives. It was there that he met Frank Costantino and taught him how to find truth in God. Eventually Max was offered the chaplain's position at Florida State Prison, the prison known as the "End of the Line."

He opened up the chapel that had always been locked, making it and himself more accessible to the men. Max took many walks on death row. He spent many long hours listening to the men as they pleaded for a better way of life and peace of mind. This book tells of the tragedies as well as the miracles that took place at Florida State Prison.

It tells how Chaplain Max Jones showed men like Murf-the-Surf how to turn their lives over to God and be spiritually free even though they are physically locked up.

Chaplain Max Jones has been an inspiration not only to prisoners, but to every life he has ever touched.
