One of the most picturesque lighthouses in Florida, this single story, stilt house, topped with lantern room, sits at the entrance to Charlotte Harbor, at the southern tip of Gasparilla Island.

Other tropical paradise islands south of Gasparilla are Sanibel, Captiva, Useppa, and Cabbage Cay. First operated in 1890, the Boca Grande Pass Light guided hundreds of thousands of oceangoing ships into port during the Florida phosphate industry boom years.

Located in one of the favorite tarpon and sport fishing areas, Boca Grande Pass Light has been a familiar sight to boaters, seashell hunters, and tourists for over 100 years.

Area residents are responsible for restoring the main lighthouse and the assistant keepers? house nearby. Open to the public, this is a great day trip for a picnic, and to look for buried pirate treasures.
